Introducing CT DEEP Commissioner Katie Dykes

Today, the Forum got to meet Katie Dykes, the Commissioner-designate of the Connecticut Department of Energy and the Environment (DEEP). Katie shared

with us her plans for DEEP and what the regulated community can expect from the department in the coming years.

About the Presenter

Katie Dykes is the Commissioner-designate of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Commissioner-designate Dykes was nominated by Governor Ned Lamont in December 2018. She awaits confirmation by the Connecticut General Assembly during the current legislative session.

Commissioner-designate Dykes most recently served as Chair of Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA). She previously served as Deputy Commissioner for Energy at DEEP from 2012 through 2016.

Prior to joining DEEP, Commissioner-designate Dykes served as Deputy General Counsel for the White House Council on Environmental Quality and as a Legal Advisor to the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Energy under President Obama. She is a graduate of Yale College and the Yale Law School.
