PCBs in Building Materials - Health Hazard or Regulatory Issue? April 5, 2017 Meeting

At this month's meeting, Jim Okun discussed PCB regulations and how their evolution led to today's confused situation.

PCBs have gone from being principally a concern for electrical utilities and a few manufacturers to being a worry for much of the real estate community.

Topics will included: - Yusho Disease, - TSCA, and, - The current emerging issue of PCBs in building materials.

Jim also discussed the difference between Risk Perception and Risk Assessment and whether PCBs in buildings pose a real health risk or more of a regulatory compliance issue.
